Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Penile Injection
(Commonly known as “P-Shot®” or “Priapus Shot®”)
Important Information
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) penile injections are a cosmetic medical procedure that involves injecting concentrated platelets derived from your own blood into penile tissue.
This treatment is considered non-surgical, however it is still a medical procedure and carries risks.
Current scientific evidence regarding effectiveness for erectile dysfunction (ED) or penile enlargement is limited and evolving. Outcomes vary between individuals.
This information is general in nature and does not replace a formal medical consultation.
What Is PRP Penile Injection?
PRP is produced by taking a small sample of your blood and processing it in a centrifuge to concentrate platelets and growth factors. The prepared PRP is then injected into specific areas of the penis.
PRP has been studied in various medical fields for its potential role in supporting tissue repair and healing. Its use in penile rejuvenation is considered an emerging application.
Who May Be Suitable?
You may be considered for assessment if you:
- Have concerns about erection firmness
- Experience reduced penile sensitivity
- Are seeking a non-surgical cosmetic option
This treatment is not a substitute for proper medical management of erectile dysfunction. Underlying medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, or psychological factors must be appropriately assessed and managed.
A full consultation and medical history review are required to determine suitability.
What Happens During the Procedure?
- Medical Consultation and Examination
Our doctor will assess your medical history, medications, and relevant risk factors. Additional investigations (such as blood tests) may be required. - Blood Collection
Approximately 60 mL of blood is taken from your arm. - PRP Preparation
The blood is processed to separate platelet-rich plasma. - Injection
The PRP is injected into targeted areas of the penis.
Local anaesthetic is used to minimise discomfort.
The procedure generally takes less than 30 minutes.
Patients are usually observed carefully before discharge.
