Under Eye Skin Precise Laser Tightening

Laser skin tightening is a non-surgical procedure which uses a specialised laser (infrared light source) to tighten skin by heating the collagen under the skin surface, causing the skin to contract (tighten). Facial skin tightening is noticeable immediately after the treatment.

Why use precise laser?

Using Precise Laser can pinpoint the wrinkled areas, avoiding accidental damage to other areas of the skin. Pinpoint skin tightening treatment not only contracts the skin, but also encourages the growth of new collagen in the treated areas and promotes the absorption of more collagen from surrounding, untreated areas.

How is the procedure performed?

Before the treatment, the patient will need to remove all make-up, oils, sunscreens, and any other substances that may be on the skin. Due to this laser treatment being mildly ablative, the doctor will administer a nerve block needle into your mouth to numb the treatment area. The patient will be wear protective eyewear while the doctor performs the laser skin tightening and smoothing.

What can be expected in the post-surgical period?

Following the procedure, you can immediately see a result, the wrinkling skin will have disappeared, and your lower eye lid skin will be smooth! The treatment area will become pink and red soon after the treatment, before forming mild scabs over the subsequent days. The pink scabs usually start to settle after the first few days and is typically well faded by one week. Some people notice tightness with lumping, or hard scabs, this usually resolves within 2 weeks. As the scabs resolve pink smooth skin will appear.

What are the post-procedure care instructions?

Usually you can go home after recovering for approximately 30 minutes in our clinic following the procedure. Your doctor will prescribe topical antibiotic ointment to prevent infection.  You can take some over-the-counter pain relieve medication to alleviate any discomfort.

You will need to return to our clinic for a regular review in one week and several times over the following months to for progress checks.
