Ultra Form Face Lift
What is an ultrasound facelift?
Ultrasound face lift or ultratherapy is an effective skin tightening procedure to treat loose, sagging facial skin. It works by using focused ultrasonic energy to stimulate the production of new collagen, a natural protein that helps tone, lift and tighten loose skin.
Who would benefit from an ultrasound face lift?
Ultratherapy is usually indicated for people who have loose skin around the face and neck or people who are in their thirties and older with mild to moderate skin laxity.
How is an ultrasound face lift performed?
The procedure begins with the application of ultrasound gel after cleaning the skin and identifying the areas to be treated. Next, a smooth handpiece is placed upon your skin. To stimulate the growth of collagen, the focused ultrasound energy bypasses the surface of your skin and is distributed within the tissue below. You might experience slight discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered. However, the sensation is temporary and indicates that the collagen-building process has been initiated. The procedure may take two to three hours, depending on the number of areas treated. You will be able to resume your normal activities right away.
What are the risks associated with the procedure?
Although there are no major complications associated with the treatment, some patients may experience minor bruising, swelling and tenderness in the face and neck. Tenderness might last up to one month following treatment.
